Kooday is a new site that intends to compete with Google, Yahoo and Bing, and intends to allow its members to own keywords, rather than bidding on advertising for those specific keywords. Some are crying Kooday Scam. While in prelaunch, it will be hard to say for sure how this will turn out.
Many are visiting kooday.com and buying up keywords and bidding on the keywords to assure optimum positions, in essence positioning themselves for success should the site go live and achieve its targets. A Kooday forum has been created which essentially acts like an eBay for Kooday keywords and is allowing members to share their Kooday keyword lists in an effort to stimulate trading and bidding up the keywords which have shown historical success on Google Adwords.
Kooday search is supposed to launch soon and once the launch of the search engine happens, Kooday claims that members will be able to share in the revenue stream produced by advertisers positioning themselves in the search engine, essentially creating a profit sharing scenario for the keyword owner. Kooday profits will then be shared back to the members, if all goes well. The Kooday search engine, if successful, will compete with Google’s search engine and hopes to claim some percentage of Google’s market share for their members.
